With nominations like that of U.S. District Judge Terrence Boyle to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and White House aide Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the confirmation battles could heat up again - depending on what the Gang of 14 decides to do in this election year.

Related News

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear Pete Halat's arguments that his 18-year sentence handed down by Judge Charles Pickering in 1997. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals had upheld the sentence as well. A movie by Martin Scorsese based on the case may be in preproduction, based on the book "Mississippi Mud."
